A Busy Bank Holiday

Hi again,

It has been a really busy bank holiday weekend. We have been doing a bit of DIY in the kitchen. It is just a bit as well as we have such a lot to do it is going to take some time to finish.

It has also been my lovely husbands Birthday so a card was made in haste on Saturday morning while he was in work. I wonder if all cardmakers are like me and struggle to think of something to do for thier loved ones.

I used my Forever Friends Black and Gold craft cd to make this together with some black and silver card stock. I was really happy with the result, simple but effective.

I have also made and sent invitations for my son's 18th and Mum's 70th joint birthday party in July.

To finish the weekend I had a blog hop and found a little inspiration from my favourite blog Hungry Heffy. Lesley had made a mini canvas for her home and it got me thinking what I could do with the stash of felt I have recently bought. So this is what I came up with.

I used very thick card 10cm x 10cm and stuck a few layers together and then covered with felt using PVA glue.
I got the images from Simply Homemade Magazine. The butterfly was with the free pattern and the bird was the free stamps from Nitwit Collections which I stamped several times to make the pattern. I am going to send these to the magazine letters page.

Anyway must go Jamie , my grandson, is hungry and asking for breakfast :-).

Bye for now

A Crafty Afternoon

I have been dabbling with needlework lately and promised my friend Stella at Soroptimist International of Liverpool that I would make some broaches for her to sell  and raise funds for her chosen charity.
The ladies in the club have kindly donated buttons and material for me to get started and here are the results.

I found the pattern for these while I was blog hopping a few months ago and have a couple for sale on ETSY (no luck in selling yet though). I have made quite a few so far and wear one of my first attempts on my denim jacket. My daughters friends like them also and model them beautifully.

I can't see me getting too much crafting done this weekend as Paul and are doing a bit of DIY in the kitchen, it is also his birthday on Sunday so I need to get a card made ASAP. I will let you see this in my next post.

Bye for now xxx

Back to the land of craft

I have been away with work for the last three days so have not been able to post on my blog. To make matters worse there has been no crafting and I am itching to get going agian especially since I came home to goodies from Ebay and my latest Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine. I also stopped off at a couple of craft shops on my way home from Cumbria and of course had lunch followed by the dreaded dessert.... Made a bit of a pig of myself really, I have no willpower at all to keep on my diet.

It is a but late now to make a start as I have been out for a lovely meal with my husband Paul but I will have a little look round some blogs before I climb the stairs to bed.

As always so many ideas and so little time

A Busy Afternoon

Since setting up the Blog I have taken advantage of time on my own (everyone is out this afternoon so it is lovely and peaceful) and made a couple of cards. Hope you like them.
These two cards are made from the MCS Alfie CD. The images are so cute and are great for both young or old and any size card.  My next make is totally different a Mini Boox card made with a Glitter Girls embossing board. I have put this one in a box as it is a little special.

A new start

I have been threatening to set up a blog for ages so here I am typing my first post and not having a clue what to do next.

I went to the Craft show at Aintree Race Course yesterday and had a wonderful day with my craft friend Lisa. We met the Glitter Girls and Crafty Bob amongst other people, it was a great day.
We spent an absolute fortune between us but you know what it is like you just have to don't you?
I can't wait for next year, I am going to start saving now.

Oh well here goes let's try and upload a couple of photo's of my cards and see how I get on.

I have this card on ETSY for sale at the momet. I made it using a digi images cd and coloured it with Promarkers (one of my favourite past times). I also used Vintage Rose backing papers, punched flowers and ribbon.

Mmmmmm ..... I am having trouble downloading another photo but watch this space there will be much more to come
