New Years Resolution

Hello there, I know I have not been here to my blog for a long time but my New Years resolution is to blog at least once a week and really work hard on selling my crafts on ETSY. My problem is I just want to spend all the time crafting and have neglected the other things I need to do like getting myself out there as being serious about this. Well 2012 will be the year for this..............erm didn't I say this about this time last year!!!!

Here are a few things I have been crafting lately

Above is a Babushka Doll and matching Card. The doll is all hand sewn from felt

These lovely little Reindeer were made as table numbers for a Christmas Party each one had the name of Santa's Reindeer

This card was made for my gorgeous grandson who is Thomas the Tank Engine mad

A lovely artsy wall hanging. This is on ETSY at the moment

Well that is me for now I am expecting my daughter and grand children to descend any minute.

Happy crafting everyone xx

A successful Day at the Race Course

Good morning, it is a very wet and miserable day here in Liverpool today and it is my cousins wedding so I am praying for sunshine later. Mum will be wearing the fascinator I made so I will be looking out for compliments .... haha....

Well I have had another busy few weeks and it all started with my first craft stall at the Altzeimers Memory Walk on 25th September. I was really pleased with all the lovely comments from everyone who bought my bits and bobs. I have to say though the sewn items went down much better than my cards. I must I must I must get my ETSY shop up and running properly.

Last weekend we were at my sister -in -laws wedding, she looked absolutely stunning. We then went to Dalton in Furness in the Lakes for a few days and had a lovely relaxing weekend but alas there were no good craft shops to be found on our travels which really surprised me

I have put a couple of pictures of my Geeky Gonks and Sleepy Gonks below. Hope you like them. Check out my Facebook pages for more pics.

Oh well time to go and get my 'up do' done.

I'll be back soon

Love Gill xx

Delighted to have a Comment

I was delighted to get a comment on one of my posts today, as I said I have been disheartened that there didn't appear to be anyone out there checking in.

Oh well third time lucky I am going to give this blogging lark another go.

I have been really busy making absolutely allsorts lately. I am loving sewing more thank card making at the moment. I blog hop constantly (even at lunch time in work) but still have not got the hand of followers etc so will have to work on that.

Last Sunday I had a stall at the Altzeimers Memory Walk in Aintree Race Course. I was really pleased with the way it went and got a lot of good comments, many asking if I had a web site were I sell my crafts. Well guess what I haven't as it is another thing I keep meaning to do!! The problem is I have soooo many crafty things that I want to do I just spend all my spare time creating.

To get back to the comment my craft area is finished and looks fab. The colour scheme in the family room / kitchen is black red and white. I have to say though it is very messy with all the projects I have going on.

On a work note I have had an interview for promotion this week but have to wait until Monday for the results so watch this space.

Here are a few pics if the crafts I have been working in lately

I made my Mum a fascinator for a wedding and got the bug so made the two above as well
This is a tooth fairy set comprising of a pillow with a pocket for the tooth, a certificate and little story
A couple from the toofy peg family
Just one of my hair accessories

Oh well thats it for tonight I am off the watch the fabulous The Only is Essex ;-)

I'll be back soon

Love

A Birthday, a Christening and a 40th Anniversary

Hi there,

I have had a couple of commissions this week so thoght I would share them with you.

The two photo's above are of my exploding box with a difference. The sides are A6 in size with a 10cm x 10cm base and box lid. I used Debbi Moore backing papers and the rest was from my stash.

The two photo's above are just like my Mums 70th card but with different colours and images. I was so made up with Mum's card I decided to go for something very similar when a friend asked for a 65th Birthday card for her Mum. I used Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique CD

And Finally I have made this one tonight for a Christening my son is attending on Sunday but am not too sure that I like it. If you are having a blog hop leave a message and tell me honestly what you think.

Oh well must go Paul needs me to hold the wood for a bit more DIY on the kitchen.

Take care

Busy Busy Busy

I have recently had my dining room and family room / kitchen knocked through so the house has been upside down for weeks while we have waited for plaster to dry and dust to settle. This weekend we finally made a start on the decoration so it has been mad busy. I did manage to fit a few cards in but only simple ones, I didn't even get a chance to photograph them to show you.

I was really exited though to find that Lesley from Hungry heffy had left a comment on my last blog. Her comment is my first so now I feel I am not talking to myself out there. I love blog hopping in my lunch hour at work so hopefully more of you are and will aslo find my blog one day.

Oh well back to work.....Bye for now

Not the best blogger in the world!!

I think the title says it all really I am a rubbish blogger. After my first flourish I have neglected it so much.

My excuse is I have been in holliday and have spent so much time crafting I am not giving the time I need to my blog, Ebay or Etsy. So I have had a chat with myself and hopefully it will do the trick ;-).

I have been splitting my time between sewing and card making whilst thinking of ideas for my kitchen and family room. Well I say family room it is more my craft room really. When it is all done I will post some photo's but for now you will have to wait cos I can only describe it as a tip!!

Whilst on holliday I managed to make 66 cards and loads of lavender bags in readiness for a craft stall at Soroptimist International of Liverpool on the 6th August. It was so relaxing to sit in the gorgeous sunshine of Benllech, Anglesey for two whole weeks doing what I love most. Paul actually said my crafting was like a metorphorical gag as he had never known me so quiet.

I made this card for my Mum's 70th Birthday the sentiment say's 'being this fabulous is a full time job'. It really reflects my Mum because she is fabulous. The images come from Joanna Sheen's Vintage Fashion CD.

This cute pussy cat is one of my lavender bags. It sold straight away when I took some bits into work

I got the pattern for this brooch from Etsy last week. It is by Snazziedrawers. The pattern was emailed to me within minutes of payment and is so easy to follow. I have worn this a couple of times and it is a gorgeous accesory to a plain dress. My Mum wore the one I made for her today and I have to say it looked good.

Another set of lavender bags, again sold so I need to get some more made.

It really is my dream to sell all I make, not for profit, I would just like people to get the pleasure I do from handmade cards and gifts. I realise though that I need to work hard at this as the customers won't come to me!!!!!

Anyway time to call it a night, take care

Jolly Holidays

I am in Angelsea on my holidays for the next two weeks, well apart from going home for the weekend for my sons 18th birthday. I am hoping the weather stays as sunny as it has been today. When the sun shines like this we could be anywhere in the world....I just love it....

I have not been very good at this blog stuff....suppose I am a bit disappointed that there does not seem to be anyone following it!!!!

I will give it a go this week and see how things are.

I have brought a ton of crafting goodies with me and have already made 4 cards which I will post tomorrow (I promise)

The last few weeks I have been making felt hairbands, bobbles and clips. A change in direction but I am loving it. I just need to be able to market my crafts sucessfully. Any ideas out there?????

A busy few weeks

It has been a while since I last blogged, I have been busy making and am still not in the habit yet.

I am stocking up on felt makes like hairbands, bobbles, brooches etc in readiness for a craft fair I have been asked to take part in in September. It felt like ages ago that I made a card until Friday when my daughter asked me to make an exploding box for her stepdaughters Holy Communion.

I am really pleased with the results. I used the Forever Friends craft CD and backing papers from a Funky Hand craft CD

The flower shaped card is the one I made from Paul and I. I used bits and bobs from my extensive stash and a Fairy silhouette in pink ink. Can you tell pink is Amy's fave colour?

Today has been another busy day, Paul and I have made a day bed for our son Graeme. Once finished I may just post some picks.

Hopefully I won't leave my next post so long

A Busy Bank Holiday

Hi again,

It has been a really busy bank holiday weekend. We have been doing a bit of DIY in the kitchen. It is just a bit as well as we have such a lot to do it is going to take some time to finish.

It has also been my lovely husbands Birthday so a card was made in haste on Saturday morning while he was in work. I wonder if all cardmakers are like me and struggle to think of something to do for thier loved ones.

I used my Forever Friends Black and Gold craft cd to make this together with some black and silver card stock. I was really happy with the result, simple but effective.

I have also made and sent invitations for my son's 18th and Mum's 70th joint birthday party in July.

To finish the weekend I had a blog hop and found a little inspiration from my favourite blog Hungry Heffy. Lesley had made a mini canvas for her home and it got me thinking what I could do with the stash of felt I have recently bought. So this is what I came up with.

I used very thick card 10cm x 10cm and stuck a few layers together and then covered with felt using PVA glue.
I got the images from Simply Homemade Magazine. The butterfly was with the free pattern and the bird was the free stamps from Nitwit Collections which I stamped several times to make the pattern. I am going to send these to the magazine letters page.

Anyway must go Jamie , my grandson, is hungry and asking for breakfast :-).

Bye for now

A Crafty Afternoon

I have been dabbling with needlework lately and promised my friend Stella at Soroptimist International of Liverpool that I would make some broaches for her to sell  and raise funds for her chosen charity.
The ladies in the club have kindly donated buttons and material for me to get started and here are the results.

I found the pattern for these while I was blog hopping a few months ago and have a couple for sale on ETSY (no luck in selling yet though). I have made quite a few so far and wear one of my first attempts on my denim jacket. My daughters friends like them also and model them beautifully.

I can't see me getting too much crafting done this weekend as Paul and are doing a bit of DIY in the kitchen, it is also his birthday on Sunday so I need to get a card made ASAP. I will let you see this in my next post.

Bye for now xxx

Back to the land of craft

I have been away with work for the last three days so have not been able to post on my blog. To make matters worse there has been no crafting and I am itching to get going agian especially since I came home to goodies from Ebay and my latest Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine. I also stopped off at a couple of craft shops on my way home from Cumbria and of course had lunch followed by the dreaded dessert.... Made a bit of a pig of myself really, I have no willpower at all to keep on my diet.

It is a but late now to make a start as I have been out for a lovely meal with my husband Paul but I will have a little look round some blogs before I climb the stairs to bed.

As always so many ideas and so little time

A Busy Afternoon

Since setting up the Blog I have taken advantage of time on my own (everyone is out this afternoon so it is lovely and peaceful) and made a couple of cards. Hope you like them.
These two cards are made from the MCS Alfie CD. The images are so cute and are great for both young or old and any size card.  My next make is totally different a Mini Boox card made with a Glitter Girls embossing board. I have put this one in a box as it is a little special.

A new start

I have been threatening to set up a blog for ages so here I am typing my first post and not having a clue what to do next.

I went to the Craft show at Aintree Race Course yesterday and had a wonderful day with my craft friend Lisa. We met the Glitter Girls and Crafty Bob amongst other people, it was a great day.
We spent an absolute fortune between us but you know what it is like you just have to don't you?
I can't wait for next year, I am going to start saving now.

Oh well here goes let's try and upload a couple of photo's of my cards and see how I get on.

I have this card on ETSY for sale at the momet. I made it using a digi images cd and coloured it with Promarkers (one of my favourite past times). I also used Vintage Rose backing papers, punched flowers and ribbon.

Mmmmmm ..... I am having trouble downloading another photo but watch this space there will be much more to come
